MU Rector´s Award:                RNDr. Tomáš Slanina, Ph.D. - for an Outstanding Doctoral Thesis


Students of our Department of Chemistry achieved a great success when they took all three prizes at the Jean-Marie Lehn Awards ceremony in 2015. The aim of chemical Jean-Marie Lehn Award, organized by the Solvay CR company in cooperation with the French embassy in the Czech Republic, is to reward the best Czech students in various fields of chemistry for their excellent results. Our students scored a splendid hat-trich when they finished in the first three places: 1st place RNDr. Tomáše Slanina, 2nd place Mgr. David Škoda and 3rd place Mgr. Aleš Stýskalík. Department of Chemistry heartily congratulates, thanks for a great representation and wishes a lot of further achievements.

Our post-doc Mgr. Iva Benešová, Ph.D. (born Tomalová) was awarded the Shimadzu Award for young scientists in chemistry and biology field of research. The name of the winner contribution was Development of off-line coupling of capillary electrophoresis with molecular and elemental mass spectrometry.

In this year, doc. Mgr. Jan Preisler, Ph.D. was awarded the Vladimír Hanuš Prize which is annually organized by the Ioannus Marcus Marci Spectroscopic Society for the Best Work in Mass Spectrometry.

On 28th of October 2012, the President of the Czech Republic awarded state decorations including the Medal of Merit. This medal was awarded to prof. RNDr. Lumír Sommer, DrSc., significant personality of Brno science in the field of analytical and inorganic chemistry. We heartily congratulate on this prestigious honour. 

The Innovation Idea category of the 2nd edition of the Czech Innovation Competition 2012 was won by the project "Aerosol Generation of Samples by Means of Diode Laser Thermal Vaporisation" of doc. Mgr. Jan Preisler, Ph.D. et al.
