Tomáš Fiala from the Department of Chemistry Receives Prestigious MASH StG/CoG Grant

Masaryk University has awarded nine internal MUNI Award in Science and Humanities (MASH) grants in a new category—MASH StG/CoG—through its Grant Agency of Masaryk University (GAMU). This category is specifically aimed at supporting early-career researchers who plan to apply for European Research Council (ERC) Starting or Consolidator Grants. Among the recipients is Tomáš Fiala from the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science.

Tomáš Fiala is one of nine promising scientists selected from seven faculties, chosen from a total of fifteen applicants in the inaugural year of this new grant category. His research at the Department of Chemistry will now benefit not only from substantial financial support but also from institutional backing aimed at achieving European-level research funding and contributing to scientific advancement in the field of chemistry. The MASH StG/CoG grant provides financial support for a period of four years. During this time, the grant holders are expected to prepare and submit a competitive ERC grant proposal. It is designed to attract new scientific talent and reinforce the university's commitment to research excellence.
