A graduate of the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University, wins the Werner von Siemens Award for Best Master’s Thesis

Mgr. Dominika Bezdeková, a graduate of the Department of Chemistry at the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University, has received the Werner von Siemens Award for the Best Master’s Thesis. The expert juries selected the winners from a total of 662 submissions across technical and natural science disciplines.

Rudolf Lukeš Prize

Every year the Experientia Foundation awards the Rudolf Lukeš Prize of 100,000 CZK to a single top Czech scientist. Applications are open until March 31st.
Spotlighting the best scientists and their achievements will increase the motivation of the scientific community to achieve excellence. That is the hope behind the Rudolf Lukeš Prize, which is awarded annually to an elite scientist in the field of organic, bioorganic or medicinal chemistry by the Czech Chemical Society’s Expert Group on Organic, Bioorganic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry in cooperation with the Experientia Foundation for an outstanding body of original work in the field published in the last five years in prestigious international journals.

Results of the 29th annual competition "Karel Štulík Prize 2026"

In the 29th annual competition for the best student scientific paper in the field of analytical chemistry "Karel Štulík Prize 2026", Laura Tesárová received a special jury prize for her paper entitled "LA-ICP-MS: An effective tool for studying the fate of metals in cells".

The final of the 29th annual Karel Štulík Prize competition, which focused on the best student papers in analytical chemistry, took place on February 3, 2026, at the Faculty of Science, Charles University in Prague. The competition was intended for bachelor's and master's students from Czech and Slovak universities.
