Last year, Deborah Barbora Fričová completed the Chemistry and Technology of Materials for Conservation and Restoration program at the Faculty of Science; she is now applying the knowledge and skills she acquired in her role as a conservator at the Podhorácké Museum in Předklášteří u Tišnova.

"If I hadn’t had supportive people around me during high school, I might never have ended up doing this," says the graduate in this interview. Today, he reveals the magic of the natural sciences not only to his students but also to the general public through countless science outreach activities. In his view, chemistry does not have to be “as terrible as many people remember it from their school days.”

Petra Vojáčková has been awarded a start-up grant by the Experientia Foundation, enabling her to set up her own research group within the Department of Chemistry at Masaryk University's Faculty of Science

Petra Vojáčková, a graduate of both our Faculty of Science and Harvard University, has been awarded a prestigious three-year start-up grant from the Experientia Foundation, covering the period 2027 to 2029. Thanks to the foundation’s support, this young scientist will establish her own research group within the Department of Chemistry at Masaryk University's Faculty of Science, starting in January 2027. A state-of-the-art laboratory awaits her.
