Libuše Trnková studied Chemistry and Physics as a teacher. After graduation in 1970 she was accepted for a postgraduate course at the Research Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry. She is currently a professor at the Department of Chemistry. Her research work is oriented in the field of biophysical chemistry and bioelectrochemistry. To study the relationship between the structure and electrochemical properties of biologically important substances such as nucleic acids, proteins and their components, she uses modern electroanalytical and spectral methods.
