Erasmus+ stays abroad for employees of the Faculty of Science

The Erasmus+ STT applications for the academic year 2023/2024 have just been opened. The content of the placement can be job-shadowing, practical/expert straining, a study visit, workshop or seminars at universities or other organisations (companies, non-profits, any organisation active in the labour market or education, professional preparation and youth work). Stays can take place from 1.7.2023 to 31.8.2024.

Prof. Jaroslav Jonas passed away

With deep regret, we have to announce that Prof. Jaroslav Jonas, Professor Emeritus of Masaryk University, has passed away. Prof. Jaroslav Jonas worked for many years at the Department of Organic Chemistry of Masaryk University’s Faculty of Science; he was vice dean from 1991 and dean of the Faculty of Science, at Masaryk University in 1992-1997.

Libuše Trnková studied Chemistry and Physics as a teacher. After graduation in 1970 she was accepted for a postgraduate course at the Research Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry. She is currently a professor at the Department of Chemistry. Her research work is oriented in the field of biophysical chemistry and bioelectrochemistry. To study the relationship between the structure and electrochemical properties of biologically important substances such as nucleic acids, proteins and their components, she uses modern electroanalytical and spectral methods.

The competition for the best student scientific work in the field of analytical chemistry "Karel Štulík Award 2023"

Our student Bc. Lívia Rigasová won second place in the 26th year of the competition for the best student scientific work in the field of analytical chemistry "Karel Štulík Award 2023" with her scientific work Tools for biomolecule recognition under the supervision doc. Vaculovič.

The XD107 regular student conference took place on Thursday 02/09/2023. The best lecture was given by Susrisweta Behera, Matúš Chvojka had the best poster by committee vote, and Lucie Leonová by student vote.

Apply for the Rudolf Lukeš Prize 2023

Applications for the Rudolf Lukeš Prize, awarded by the Czech Chemical Society, in cooperation with the Experientia Foundation, can be submitted by scientists of any age currently working at one of the Czech scientific institutions. Applicants must submit a collection of work completed over the past five years in the field of organic, bioorganic and medicinal chemistry. The deadline for applications is 31 March 2023. Successful applicant receives personal award in the amount of 100,000 CZK (approximately 4000 USD).
